PLATOON’s Kick-off meeting, hosted by ENGIE, took place in Paris, on the 16th and 17th of January 2020. All consortium partners were represented. The Kick-off was initiated by PLATOON’s Coordinator, Philippe Calvez. After a round of introductions, including the presentation of each partner, as per their profile and role in the PLATOON project, the discussion shifted to the project management aspects for the project. Afterwards, all WP Leaders presented their WP, its essential objectives, tasks and existing know-how, including internal goals and timeline for the first year of the project, the state of the art, challenges etc.

After each WP presentation, a Q&A session with the consortium was scheduled. At the end of the first day, the WP of Project Management was presented in depth and the scheduled Steering Committee Meeting took place, in which all the members of the Steering Committee attended, chaired by the coordinator. The first day was concluded with a joint dinner.

On the second day of the Kick-off, the rest of the WPs were presented in depth. In this second round of presentations, the focus was on the first steps for each WP, including the collaboration, exchange of material and results and interaction with other work packages. A general discussion was planned after each WP presentation. The Kick-off was concluded with a wrap-up session and a general discussion on insights on specific cases and challenges in decision-making from network and city partners, aiming to derive lessons learned from experiences in previous projects and aiming to identify project outcomes and best practices that could be relevant for PLATOON.
